Bexar County To Launch Bookless Library

A bookless library? Yup! You heard right.

Bexar County is preparing to build the nation’s first bookless library system, BiblioTech. According to a published report in the San Antonio Express-News, Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolf believes the new bookless format will allow more families to access reading materials regardless of where you live.

The “prototype” location will be located on the Southside of the city. Library users will have access to desktop computers but also to eReaders, which will be available for checkout.  Library personnel will be on site to help with homework and other research needs.

The proposed library system is set to open Fall 2013.
