Communities called to support GenTX Day, May 3

State-wide movement urges communities to unite to celebrate college enrollment.

Generation TX, a state-wide movement, will be celebrating the third annual GenTX Day on Friday, May 3, 2013. This year’s theme is “Take A Step on GenTX Day,” which calls the community to support college enrollment with activities that motivate and inspire students to realize their futures.

According to the press release, business, community members, parents and students are encouraged to wear their favorite college T-shirt, hold GenTX Day events, and take at least one step towards college on GenTX Day by filling out a college application, taking a college tour, and/or being a college mentor.

The City of San Antonio is celebrating college enrollment events during College Week, which run through Friday, May 3. The week-long events are designed to inspire students to plan for the future.
