District STARR Website To Ease Transition

District STARR Website To Ease Transition

To begin the transition process, Northside ISD has created a district STARR information web site to answer new assessment questions.

Texas schools will begin the new State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR™) program spring 2012. Because there are so many differences in this new program, Northside school district has created an information site to answer student, parent and educator questions. According to the Texas Education Agency (TEA), testing will be limited to a four-hour block, and it promises to be more vigorous. High school students will take 12 end-of-course (EOC) assessments in Algebra I, geometry, Algebra II, biology, chemistry, physics, English I, English II, English III, world geography, world history, and U.S. history.

Site users will find parent resources, a Q & A section and testing information for each grade level.
