Donor Site Helps Teachers Fill Classroom Needs

There are lots of worthy causes –at the local and national scale– so deciding where to donate can be tricky. Check out the popular donor site that lets teachers ask for classroom items.

DonorsChoose.org is giving teachers a voice to ask for much needed classroom materials to enhance learning. The online charity allows public school teachers to post classroom project requests from funding a field trip to increasing reading materials. The projects are endless and the need is great.

Donors can see projects by subject (math and science, music and the arts, literacy & language, etc.) or you can search for schools by zip code. When projects are funded, the materials requested are sent to the school. Donors will receive project updates and a letter from the teacher. Donations over $50 will receive a hand-written “Thank You” from the children.

You can find K-12 public and charter schools from all 50 states, including the District of Columbia. Click HERE to learn more about DonorsChoose.org.
