Edgewood district community members can take advantage of free computer training at the Hoelscher Technology Lab.

The free computer classes are offered Monday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. – Noon and from
5 – 8 p.m. each week through December 2011.

Adults can  learn basic keyboarding, computer basics, word processing using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and how to use the Internet. Individuals will have an opportunity to learn how to create resumes, brochures, greeting cards, documents, and slide shows. Additionally, beginning genealogy learners will have access to the U.S. Census online from 1790 – 1930.

The district also provides entry level secretarial skills training for those interested in business office environments. Adults learn how to create, organize and store files as well as how to create budgets and invoices using Microsoft Excel.
