The Financial Allocation Study for Texas (FAST) report released last week scored four local school districts poorly in relation to their spending and the district’s academic progress.

San Antonio, East Central, Edgewood and Somerset ISDs got two stars or less out of five in the FAST report from Comptroller Susan Combs. That means the districts fiscal spending did not reflect the academic progress in each district. Academic progress is based on a student’s growth in math and reading/English language arts. Spending indexes rank districts from very low to very high in comparison to other school districts. Receiving a low rating is good – meaning cost-efficient measures are being utilized.
