Girls Inc. to host Time Warner Cable STEM Camp

Open minds and exploratory senses in young girls is the goal at next week’s STEM-centered camp.

Girls Inc. of San Antonio will host the Time Warner Cable STEM Camp at the Christian Hope Resource Center on Monday, Nov. 21 – Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011. The three-day camp will provide girls ages 8 – 11 years old an opportunity to learn and explore careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM).

The camp schedule includes feature guest speakers from the United States Naval Academy, a field trip to the Time Warner Cable headquarters with “Cracking the Code” and Telecommunications workshops, hands-on activities  and two days of the Girls Inc. National Identity Program, Operation SMART.

Volunteers are needed during the STEM Camp. For more information about volunteering, contact Zelina Cruz at
