Grants Supports Graduate Completion Programs

Grants seek to increase college attainment across San Antonio high schools.

The San Antonio Area Foundation (SAAF) is committed to supporting efforts that ensure student success during high school and beyond. Through the SAAF’s High School Completion initiative, grants are awarded to nonprofit organizations who serve Bexar County students in grades sixth through nine through programs which operate outside of regular school hours. The High School Completion initiative strives to turn around the high dropout rate in Bexar County and simultaneously increase college attainment.

In the past two years, the Area Foundation has awarded 22 organizations with grants totaling $562,000. Beginning June 24, 2013, the San Antonio Area Foundation will begin accepting applications for grants via their website. The foundation will host two community meetings to share information useful for those applying for funding – Tuesday, June 25 and Thursday, June 27.

The deadline for proposals will be August 15, 2013.
