Justices Consider Race Admissions Plan at UT

Should race be used to determine college admissions?

The U.S. Supreme Court Justices convened today to weigh the Texas plan that uses race as a determining factor for college admissions at the University of Texas.

In the case of Fisher v University of Texas at Austin (Case #11-345), Abigail Fisher, a white student, says she was denied admission based on her race despite high test scores. University officials argue that race is needed to diversify college campuses.
