The P16Plus Council of Greater Bexar County (P16Plus) is hiring a Facilitator/Youth Coordinator.

The overall purpose of this position is to facilitate multidisciplinary or multi-organizational teams to create systemic changes in the community, in alignment with the P16Plus mission of creating academic success for every child in Bexar County from cradle to career.

JOB SUMMARY

The P16Plus Facilitator/Youth Coordinator will coach, facilitate, and provide technical assistance to networks of community partners to maintain, momentum, achieve objectives and complete deliverables. This position will work with school districts, students and organizations that represent youth to determine their needs and develop programs in response to those needs.  will utilize Continuous Improvement processes and tools, additionally this position will maintain communication and work collaboratively with volunteers and/or data analysts to provide support for networks of community partners while providing translations of vocabulary/jargon across diverse groups and sectors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and cultivate relationships with community stakeholders, including leaders in education, business, faith, nonprofit, philanthropic and civic sectors.
  • Facilitate the planning activities of community partners aligned with the partnership’s priority strategy project work which may include service and learning events
  • Assists in convening and organizing partners to develop evidence based continuous improvement action plans.
  • Provide project management and organization skills to support multidisciplinary or multi-organizational teams.
  • Address and overcome complex issues to achieve desired results.
  • Champion change and provide tools to assist youth partners in accelerating the change
  • Champion change and provide tools to assist community partners in accelerating the change management process necessary to implement and sustain their proposed improvements.
  • Serve as spokesperson and champion for P16Plus initiatives and GenTX SA, SA Youth Commission, SA Kids Attend to Win, SA is Our Classroom, and STEM Pipeline Project, etc.
  • Lead, attend and/or present at P16Plus committee meetings as necessary and provide information on progress of youth efforts through presentations and written reports.
  • Provide available education data to community members to support priority strategy project work
  • Serve as a spokesperson and champion for P16Plus, the Six Sigma Lite Continuous Improvement Process, and the P16Plus asset mapping and endorsement process with Student Success Networks and other community partners.
  • Lead, attend and/or present at P16Plus committee meetings as necessary and provide information on progress of community networks through presentations and written reports.
  • Maintain and archive appropriate documentation of progress of provider networks in moving through the Six Sigma Lite process. Appropriate documentation may include, but is not limited to, meeting minutes, network work products, relevant research, and P16Plus endorsement deliverables.
  • Assist in other P16Plus initiatives and meetings as needed.

DUCATION, JOB KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree required with 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience. Demonstrated success in facilitating multidisciplinary or multi-organizational teams desired. Excellent project management and organizational skills; ability to manage details and work independently; excellent written and oral communication skills and strong interpersonal skills required. Experience with or ability to address and overcome complex issues to achieve desired results. Experience in continuous improvement preferred.

Work Schedule:   Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (occasional night and weekend work hours)
