Preschoolers Not Getting Enough Playtime

Developing large motor and social skills are just as important as classroom time; however, a study recently released indicates preschool children in day cares are not getting enough playtime.

The findings in the Pediatric Journal indicate children ages 3 -5 years old are not getting enough playtime as recommended. In fact, the journal suggests this age group needs approximately one hour of play time or physical activity each day.

Physical activity is encouraged at this young age to develop healthy habits and also to deter childhood obesity.
