SA Families Invited to Hit the Streets at Síclovía

It’s going to be a great weekend for bike riding and family fun!

Síclovía San Antonio’s Family Adventure is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 7 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. This car free day is dedicated to promote healthy lifestyles, community interaction, active transportation through walking and bicycling, and family fun. Streets are opened to bicycling, jogging, skating and various other family-friendly activities.

The event will officially kick off with the Opening Ceremonies at Alamo Plaza. There will be music and plenty of zumba classes.

This event’s route has been extended south. The route runs from Mahnke Park on Broadway at Parland to Alamo Plaza. The street will be closed to cars so participants may enter at any point on the specified route to enjoy safe open streets, according to Síclovía’s website.

Participants can find free activities and rest spots along the route, also known as Reclovía. Download Reclovía maps/schedule of events.

The YMCA will also host a Síclovía 5K at this year’s event. To register for the race, click HERE.

H-E-B is the presenting sponsor this year, along with SA Balance and the YMCA.
