Southside ISD Children’s Author Launches Books

Sandy Trevizo Gonzales has been busy reading to children in the area; in fact, she’s been reading her own bilingual board books she co-wrote that tell the adventures of Kyla and Carlos.

Gonzales, a 2000 graduate from Southside High School, teamed up with friend and employer Trey Holder to tell the story of Kyla, a San Antonio girl who shares adventures with her cousin Carlos who is from Monterrey, Mexico.

The launch of the bilingual book coincides with H-E-B’s early literacy initiative Read 3 campaign. In fact, Gonzales’ book is one of the books customers can purchase or receive in combo deals.
