Texas Teacher Retirement Will See Changes

Under the new bill that was passed by the Senate, Texas teachers will pay a little more toward their retirement.

One of many bills Senate bills passed this week includes Senate Bill 1458 that will increase the amount of money paid by teachers, school districts and the state of Texas to the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS)

According to reports, TRS members will have an increase to their contributions from 6.4 to 7.7 over the next four years. School districts will also pay more; contributions will jump from 6.4 to 6.8.
