‘Affordable Degree’ announced at TAMU-SA

The cost of education is hindering many students to complete their degrees.

Texas A&M San Antonio hopes to ease the burden of educational costs by partnering with the Alamo Colleges to offer an “Affordable Degree” for less than $10,000.

The joint initiative was announced earlier this month introducing the first degree – a Bachelor of Applied Arts & Science (B.A.A.S.) in Information Technology. The program will incorporate dual credit classes, courses from any of the five campuses at Alamo Colleges and then a transfer plan to Texas A&M San Antonio, according to TAMUSA University Communications.

Students from participating San Antonio high schools, Judson and Comal school districts can begin the “affordable degree” this fall 2012.
