Community partners offer STEM scholarship

Southside auto giant partners with colleges to offer new scholarship.

Palo Alto College, Texas A&M University – San Antonio and Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Texas, Inc., announced a new scholarship that supports careers in science, technology, engineering and math (stem). The collaborative effort will award a $25,000 scholarship to area students who commit to a STEM-based career.

The first scholarship was awarded to Katie Drzymala, a graduate of East Central High School in the East Central Independent School District. Drzymala will begin her studies in the fall at Palo Alto College and will then transfer to Texas A&M San Antonio to complete her degree.

The annual scholarship will be open to other school districts including: East Central, Harlandale, Somerset, Southside, Southwest, and South San Antonio.
