Mexican American Studies Conference set

Our Lady of the Lake University is now registering for the Center for Mexican American Studies and Research (CMSAR) Conference.

The ninth annual conference’s theme is “From Demography to Identity: Who We Are in America” and will take place on March 22-24.

Conference sessions will focus on research and scholarly and creative expressions that reflect today’s presence of Mexican Americans in the United States.

The keynote speaker for Friday, March 23 will be Dr. Alejandro Portes, who is the Howard Harrison and Gabrielle Snyder Beck Professor of Sociology and director of the Center for Migration and Development at Princeton University. Other featured speakers include Patricia Mejia, Ret. Lieutenant Colonel Consuelo Castillo Kickbusch, Dr. Antonia Castaneda, Maria Antonietta Berriozabal, Ricardo O. Pimentel, and Lionel Sosa.
