Northwest Vista’s Male Success Initiative

Male students at Northwest Vista College can apply to join a character-building program that will set them up for future success in their careers.

Northwest Vista College is hosting the Male Success Initiative (MSI), a program that teaches character development and success strategies to a select 20 male students. Through a variety of activities, MSI’s goal is to build strong, positive future leaders.

Participants of the program must complete a specified amount of hours of engagement each semester. Students require two hours of community service, four hours of leadership workshops, five hours of MSI meetings, and five hours of campus engagement. These sessions will feature group discussions, guest speakers, financial workshops, and practice interviews. Students will also receive be eligible for special scholarship opportunities and recommendation letters.

The most important thing MSI focuses on is character development. Through mentorship with male leaders in the community and by engaging with other students, participants of this program will gain professional development and a competitive edge when job searching. Participants will be seen as campus leaders. Two MSI students may be chosen to serve as “coaches” to the group.

In summary, MSI provides students with life learning skills. To sign up, complete an application and submit it to Juan Rosas via email at jrosas48@student.alamo.edu.
