Southside graduate writes children’s book

Sandy Trevizo Gonzales has been busy reading to children in the area; in fact, she’s been reading her own bilingual board books she co-wrote that tell the adventures of Kyla and Carlos.

Gonzales, a 2000 graduate from Southside High School, teamed up with friend and employer Trey Holder to tell the story of Kyla, a San Antonio girl who shares adventures with her cousin Carlos who is from Monterrey, Mexico. The eye-catching illustrations make the bilingual series fun and interesting for all ages. All text is in Spanish and English and includes a glossary of terms to help young readers build vocabulary and enhance a second language.
