Annual event encourages families to read together

Annual event brings families together to support student literacy accomplishments.

Converse Elementary School held its annual Family Reading Night to promote the importance of reading together as a family.

The children read aloud to their parents and shared classroom activities. Older students proudly shared book report projects.. Additionally, the well-attended event offered a book fair and encouraged parents to look through student journals, browse the library and read to and with their children.

More than 260 students and families attended the event. Future “family night” will focus on math and science.
