District students can continue enjoying free meals this summer.

Many San Antonio area schools and centers will continue offering free breakfast and lunches to students as part of the Texas Department of Agriculture’s “Seamless Summer Nutrition Program” and the “Summer Food Service Program (SFSP).” One breakfast and one lunch meal will be provided to all students under the age of 18 years old starting at the beginning of June and ending around mid August 2014 (dates for schools/centers vary).

As part of the Seamless Summer Nutrition Program, breakfast will be served anywhere from 7:15 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. at multiple elementary, middle and high school locations (times vary). Lunchtimes range from 10:30 p.m. – 1:00 pm at the schools and centers.

At various locations around the city, the San Antonio Food Bank is implementing the Summer Food Service Program.  The program is targeted at helping underprivileged students avoid hunger, while teaching them healthy eating habits at the same time.  Visit the San Antonio Foodbank website for more information, and visit HERE for a full list of campuses and times this program is being offered.
