FSH hosts “story” workshop to empower children

Parent and student workshops help military kids succeed emotionally and academically.

Fort Sam Houston is hosting a Parent to Parent “Tell Me a Story” event for its military families on Friday, May 18 at 5:30 p.m. at the FSH Elementary School. Families are encouraged to RSVP for the event as seating is limited.

The free event will feature guest speaker Lieutenant General William B. Caldwell IV, senior commander at Fort Sam Houston and Camp Bullis. Lt. Gen. Caldwell will be reading “How to Bake an American Pie” by Karma Wilson.

The Military Child Education Coalition’s (MCEC) “Tell Me a Story” program initiative uses literature to help children make connections and tell their own stories. MCEC supports military families by providing a wealth of resources. It’s mission is to ensure inclusive, quality educational experiences for all military children affected by mobility, family separation, and transition.
