Is your child ready to go back to school?

Most schools in San Antonio are scheduled to reopen for the Fall semester on Monday, August 27, 2012, which is in less than two weeks away.

Below you will find a couple of reminders to prepare your child for the first day of school — both physically and mentally.

Back to School Immunizations
No shots. No school. Really! Children will not be allowed to return to school until their immunizations are up to date. Click HERE to find an immunization clinic near you.

School Supplies/Uniforms
San Antonians have been fortunate with the generous school supplies and uniform drives. Communities In Schools recently held a city-wide Stuff the Bus and supplies will be distributed by partner agencies. Click HERE to find a partner agency. School supplies lists can also be found at your local H-E-B grocery and WalMart stores.

Gently used uniforms are often donated to schools. Contact your school office for assistance. Moderately prices uniforms can be found at your local Academy stores.

Back to School Routines
It’s not too late to start your child on a back-to-school bed routine. Studies show that children perform best when they get at least 10 hours of sleep. Get kids excited about going back to school by staying positive and establishing routines, including eating a healthy breakfast. Read more tips HERE.

Enjoy the last week of summer vacation, kids!
