Learning Tree offers after school enrichment

Northside school district’s after school program is offering families a safe environment for children to extend their day of learning.

The Learning Tree After-School Enrichment Program at Northside ISD gives familes after school care options that provide comfort and organized structure for children. Available in 45 different sites (schools) across the city, Learning Tree is led by Northside staff, including site leaders, site coordinators, and youth leaders. Youth leaders are often times area college student teachers, so students receive hands-on attention and guidance. The program ratio is 1:18.

While the program is free of cost to parents in some schools because of grant funding, the program is a tuition-based program with affordable monthly fees.

The after-school enrichment program “enriches” students by providing daily structure and variety including guest speakers who share character-building presentations, cooking lessons, sports, outdoor recreation, physical activity, homework time and a healthy snack. Parent engagement is encouraged to ensure student success.

After-school enrichment is available every day from 2:45 p.m. until 6:45 p.m. (*Dismal times vary by site). For a list of participating schools, click here.
