NEISD students learn math for a worthy cause

Imagine if your child could learn, make money and potentially save a life. Well, if your child attends Northern Hills Elementary, then she might be earning money for a good cause.

The North East district elementary school is participating in the St. Jude’s Math-a-thon from January 9 – 20. This fun and education-based fundraiser is sponsored by St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Students will have access to a math funbook filled with math facts and problems. After completing the math book, the children will collect their sponsored donations and submit the funds to the research hospital.

This is a great opportunity to teach children the importance of helping others and reinforces math concepts in a fun way.  Monies raised benefit St. Jude and its doctors and scientists as they work to eradicate childhood cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases.

All donations must be turned in by January 20.

To sponsor a child, please contact Stephanie Berube at sberu@neisd.net or call 210-407-5200.
