Robotics camp at Northwest Vista College promotes STEM learning.
Northwest Vista College is hosting the TIER (Texas Institute for Educational Robotics) Youth Camp this month for elementary and middle school students.  The camp promotes STEM education by getting kids interested in robotics at a young age.

Different classes are held each week, and the topics vary depending on the age group.  Students in 2nd-3rd grade will learn about simple machines through computer activities that will allow them to work with Lego kits. The 4th-6th graders will study space and robotic exploration using Lego kits. Finally, 6th-8th graders will learn about energy and health by using the virtual world of Whyville.

Sessions are held Monday – Friday from July 7-11, July 14-18, and July 21-25. Classes are from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. and cost $250 per week. Scholarships are available.
