Students create art for P16Plus holiday card

Harlandale ISD student artists lend a hand in creating art designs for a holiday card for P16Plus.

Students from Morrill Elementary School shared their artistic talent to help create artwork to be used on holiday print and electronic cards for P16Plus Council of Greater Bexar County. The children were given instructions to draw a holiday scene of their choice.

Sadona Woody, the school librarian, helped coordinate the art project with the assistance from Ms. Georgia Garza, library assistant; Mrs. Andrea Salinas, counselor; and Mr. Oscar Castro, music teacher.  Out of the 542 art submissions, 18 were chosen by school staff. The three winning art designs were selected by the students via secret ballot.

The three winning artists are:

“Snowman” by Martin Delgado, Mrs. Escodedo’s class
Snowman art from Morrill_300 res_400x314
“Houses” by Lina Del Rio, Mr. Alvarez’s class
Reindeer design_300 res_400x314
“Hot Chocolate” by Madalyn Castro, Mrs. Escobedo’s class.
Keep Warm_300 res_400x311

P16Plus awarded each winning student a bag of art supplies.

According to Ms. Woody, the entire school will be treated to a popsicle party in the spring for their participation in the art project.
