Summer Youth Program celebrates the Olympics

Westside youth wrap-up the summer enrichment program with outdoor fun.

In honor of the Olympics, Good Samaritan Community Services held their own Olympic-style games for the summer youth who are wrapping up the summer enrichment program. The fun, competitive games included jumping rope, long jump, shot put with water balloons, and a scooter race.

The summer enrichment program, for children ages 6 – 18 years old, is one of several youth development programs offered to low-income area youth. Program participants enjoyed daily themed activities, arts & crafts, special events and free meals.

Good Samaritan Community Services offers extensive social service programs that address the overall needs of children, youth, and families living in this community. Other services include child care, family development courses in food and nutrition, and Get2Work programs for at-risk students.
