Career and Tech students produce YMCA video

Collaborative project gives students real-life experience in film production.

Roosevelt High School Career and Technology students Marisa Callaway and Patrick Stone put their skills to the test when they produced a promotional video for the local Walzem Family YMCA.

After creating an action plan, the students created a storyboard and went to work scheduling interviews, filming and editing the promotional video that was much needed by their local Y. The video introduces the Walzem site’s services and facilities, including the kid’s club area, indoor pool with slide and vast array of workout classes and equipment.

This real-world project gave students an opportunity to create a video that can be added to their portfolio once they graduate, and gave the Y a great social media marketing tool.
