Cyber Dragons gear up for next competition

These teens aren’t just surfing the web. This group of cyber warriors are preparing for a national competition where they’ll put their skills to the test.

Kudos to the Southwest High School’s Cyber Dragons who are advancing to the third round of competition at the CyberPoint IV National Cyber Security Competition on January 27.

According to CyberPoint officials, 47 states and 850 teams have registered to compete at the cyber defense challenge. This unique competition gives students hands-on experience and introduces them to a career in cyber security.

The Cyber Dragons are the only high school team from San Antonio advancing in the open division along with four other San Antonio teams: ITSA Boerne, two ITSA New Braunfels teams, ITSA San Antonio.

Many of these students who compete in these challenges have already earned IT Certifications and are applying their skills in IT fields.
