Johnson HS athletes join Bully Guard program

Anti-bullying campaigns on national networks and phone apps are just a few initiatives we’ve seen in response to bullying in schools.

Johnson High School recently launched an anti-bullying campaign with the recommendation of school counselor Carri Elliot. The buddy system she created enlisted the help of several football players from the school.

The program was such a success that Elliot has recruited additional players to join the “Bully Guard” system. The program pairs a bullied victim with a Bully Guard who protects the student by walking him to and from class.

According to school representatives, Bully Guard members Cohner Mokry, Ryder Burke and Austin Carson will be recognized by the school board for their efforts to curb bullying at Johnson High School.
