Museum/Art Studio tour expands student learning

Local resources give Lackland ISD high school students hands-on experience with art and history.

Students from Lackland school district took advantage of the City’s resources and toured the San Antonio Art Museum’s exciting Chinese Jade Exhibit. The international exhibit shares 5000 years of Chinese history through art. Visitors can experience ritual objects, weapons, jewelry and accessories.

Incorporating TEKS standards into all their lectures and tours, the San Antonio Museum of Art offers affordable rates for school groups and transportation reimbursement. A traveling trunk is also available for schools that cannot travel to the museum.

A visit to Artspace allowed students to explore contemporary art and learn about shape, form, color, balance and design. Artspace features painting, drawing, photography and sculpting collections.

Lectures outside the classroom expands a student’s experience with topics and enhances learning. How will you utilize San Antonio’s resources to enrich your student?
