Application deadline is just around the corner.

The San Antonio Pre-freshmen Engineering Program (SAPREP) is accepting applications for the 2013 SAPREP session until Thursday, January 31.

SAPREP, a collaborative effort of local high schools and colleges and universities, targets underrepresented middle and high school students interested in science and engineering career paths. The math-based, enrichment program includes course work, team projects, class presentations, examinations, career awareness speakers, field trips, and special events

Students must apply each year to the program, that is presented over four summers. Each year, over 1400 middle and high school students enroll in the program. The program is offered at various SAPREP campuses, including the University of Texas at San Antonio, St. Mary’s University, and San Antonio College to name a few.

The program fee is $300; however, many schools do provide funding for student participation. Students and families are encouraged to contact your school counselor for an application and more details.
