Scholarship money comes from rodeo art sale

Two talented seniors from Judson High School reap the sale of their artwork in this year’s rodeo.

Judson seniors Gabriel Fernandez and Joe Ledesma-Medina were two out of 25 talented student artists whose artwork was displayed for auction at this year’s San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo. Their artwork was selected out of a pool of 400 entries. The auction

Ledkkesma-Medina’s piece, “Back on the Saddle,” sold for more than $14,000 and Fernandez’s artwork, “Staple of the West,” sold for more than $23,000 according to a Judson ISD spokesperson. The auction brings in thousands of dollars each year for student scholarships.
