SWISD Police Explorers compete in State Contest

Criminal justice students at Southwest ISD brought home top awards in law enforcement skills competition.

The Southwest High School Police Explorers won two first and two second place awards at the Texas Law Enforcement Explorer State Competition held in April. This was the first year the Police Explorers competed at the state level.

The competition allows students to test their skills knowledge. Under the guidance of their instructor and advisors, the teams placed in crisis negotiation, active shooter contests, felony traffic stop, and white collar crime/search warrant contests. The Police Explorers program supports professional knowledge, character development, and fosters vocational career awareness.

Congratulations to the Police Explorers!
