UTSA to host Ready to Lead (R2L) program

Latino high school students are invited to participate in a day-long program that will provide the tools and training needed to be prepared for college.

The Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) is offering the Ready to Lead (R2L) program at the University of Texas at San Antonio Downtown Campus on Saturday, March 31 from 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. The event is free and open to San Antonio students.

The intensive day-long program will focus on college awareness and education, financial aid literacy, networking, and leadership development. Congressman Charlie Gonzales will be a featured presenter. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

The Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) was established in 1978 and offers programs that serve more than 1,500 young Latinos annually. CHCI seeks to serve Latinos who are first in their family to go to college and who come from families with annual incomes below $30,000. Programs promote college readiness, college attainment and access to a network of Latino leadership.
