SAISD middle school pilots anti-bullying app

Irving Middle School in the San Antonio Independent School District is lifting it’s “cell phone usage at school” policy to test a new anti-bullying app that allows students to anonymously report bullying.

The app, Stop Bullies, created by Tim Porter, CEO and president of Appdiction Studio, is currently being used in several schools across the city. The app allows students to report bullying in real-time. Students can choose to include their names if they want to or not.

According to the report, the pilot program is funded by Health Collaborative.

“We are initially offering the opportunity to fund and pilot the project at three campuses per school district so the opportunity is open for everyone,” said Elizabeth Lutz, with Health Collaborative.
