The Alamo Colleges hosted a free WhyCareers Lab training session for educators on last weekend at the Lowe-Woods Educational & Community Complex.

Middle school math, science and and CTE teachers and directors received training on WhyCareers curriculum. One of the popular tools of the curriculum is the the popular Whyville virtual community. The virtual city allows teens and tweens engage and learn about a variety of topics including career readiness, science, geography and math.

The professional development introduced Whycareers and demonstrations to implement the curriculum in the classroom.

WhyCareers is a professionally developed, standards-based, supplemental curriculum that supports Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills in math, science and career education.
