Young Achievers tour News 4 WOAI station

Career exploration led middle school students to the news station at News 4 WOAI.

Terrell Wells and Rhodes Middle School students enrolled in the Young Achievers program recently toured the local news station to explore the different career fields in communications. The students got a behind-the-scenes tour including participating as Live audience members during the taping of the SA Living Show with Shelly Miles.

Young Achievers is a program sponsored by the Boys & Girls Club of San Antonio. Young Achievers is a college preparation program with partnering school districts. Students who commit to the 16-week program participate in workshops, take field trips to college campuses, meet with a mentor and have an opportunity to take the SAT test. Students are given an opportunity to compete for a scholarship for a three-week summer study workshop at a university.
