Dyslexia Film Explains Learning Disorder

Dyslexia can be scary for both parents and children, but in reality, the learning disability is quite manageable if you understand how to identify dyslexia and the resources available.

The public is invited to a screening of “Demystifying Dyslexia” on Thursday, Dec. 8 from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Education Service Center (ESC-20), 1312 Hines Ave.

The national documentary takes viewers on a journey of discovering the challenges of living and learning with dyslexia. The video, produced by WNED Productions, highlights personal stories, educational best practices and scientific research. Olympic champion Bruce Jenner, who is dyslexic, narrates the film and shares his own struggles before understanding dyslexia.

ESC-Region 20 is hosting the screening and offering popcorn and pizza to all viewers. Participants will receive 1-hour CPE credit. Refreshments provided by the San Antonio Public Library Foundation.
