Educators invited to register for PD workshops

Local businesses support area teachers with resources to be used in the classroom.

The San Antonio Math & Science Education Coalition (SAMSEC) is sponsoring a two-day seminar on June 10 -11, 2014 for local science and math teachers. The registration deadline is Friday, April 25.

The seminars give educators the resources and training needed to support classroom instruction related to real-world industry. Participants can also expect to visit several job sites for an off-site tour. Teachers will receive $150 stipend for each workshop. (Lunch is provided.)

June 10-11
The first seminar will be hosted by the Medical Education & Training Campus at Fort Sam Houston.

June 17 – 18
The second two-day seminar will be hosted by Valero Energy Corp.

 Who’s Eligible?
The workshops are open to high school and middle school mathematics- or science-certified teachers currently teaching in the San Antonio area, and who have been teaching for 10 years or less. To be considered, applications must be received no later than 5 p.m. on April 25.
