STEM Week in San Antonio kicks off local events

Local events kick off the city’s first STEM week.

Mayor Julián Castro officially proclaimed this week (Nov 11-16) as STEM Week at a news conference last week. STEM stands for science, technology, engineering and math.

The San Antonio Hispanic of Commerce is hosting CORE4 STEM Expo beginning today (Nov. 13) through Saturday, Nov. 16 at the Freeman Coliseum Expo Hall.  The educational conference will expose over 2,500 middle school students to stem fields.

On Nov. 16, families are invited to participate in Family Day at UTSA (main campus) and St. Philip’s College. The free event runs from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
