Virtual summer writing camp for teachers

Summer enrichment programs aren’t just for kids.

Educators and librarians are invited to join Teachers Write!, a  free virtual summer writing camp beginning June 1 – August 10, 2012.

Kate Messner is offering the free camp. She is a an award-winning author whose books for kids have been New York Times Notable, Junior Library Guild, IndieBound, and Bank Street College of Education Best Books selections. She also taught middle school for 15 years.

Messner’s “daily plan” or weekly schedule for those who join the virtual camp includes Mini Lesson Mondays, Tuesday Quick-Write, Wednesday Q & A, Thursday Quick-Write, and Friday Writing Happy Hour.

The online community space gives educators  an opportunity to hone writing skills and get tips for improving writing lessons.

Expect guest author virtual visits and weekly book giveaways. Participants can register online .
