FFN Conference offers tools for school readiness

In the spirit of Fiesta, Family, Friends and Neighbors hosted their annual conference celebrating children.

The event was hosted at the Northside Activity Center on Monday, April 16. Caregivers and parents were treated to free workshops geared toward developing early learning skills, including number and color recognition, play, and nutrition.

The San Antonio Food Bank led a bilingual nutrition workshop. The workshop introduced better health choices during meal and snack times. Other service providers led hands-on activities that allowed parents to create Make & Take activities like Play-Doh and festive-style musical rings.

The conference was sponsored by Northside ISD, Family Services Association, San Antonio Public Library, City of San Antonio, Avance San Antonio, the YWCA, the City of San Antonio Community Initiative, and KLRN.
